Rambling thoughts

I have a bone to pick with the world. Recently, Kanye West was hospitalized for exhaustion and he was apparently taken away in hand cuffs. I'm not here to defend Kanye West (but I'll admit Graduation is my all time favourite album). Here is my problem.. Everyone is so quick to judge and say "Oh, well he's super rich and makes ridiculous statements and does outrageous things that don't make me feel sorry for him" but really, who are YOU to say who deserves empathy or not? There is a photo going around Facebook comparing him to The Tragically Hip's frontman Gord Downie who is currently fighting brain cancer. I can't add the photo here because I'm at the library and these computers don't do much more than browse the web, so let me describe it to you. There are side by side photos of the two men, Kanye's side says "I'm too tired to tour" while Gord's side says "You poor thing, get some rest". They are both fighting two completely different battles and I don't think it's fair for anyone to say that one is more important than the other. Think about it. If you had two family members: one with cancer and another with mental health challenges, would you compare the two? Would you tell someone close to you with a problem that theirs is less significant than someone else's? I surely hope not.

Please think twice before you make comments or judge someone else, you never know what someone has gone or is going through.
