You're a touch overrated

I love Taking Back Sunday.
You should too. The first song I heard was Cute Without the 'E' (Cut from the team) on Punk Goes Acoustic. Liked it so I tried out some other stuff and I've been hooked since like grade 8. And now that they are back in the studio, I just can't stop listening to them as I wait for the new album.

They are perfect for pumping me up for soccer, and mellowing me out. I can workout to them, sleep to them, do homework to them. Everything. I don't really know anything about music, so this definitely isn't a music review. I couldn't even play the recorder in elementary school. I don't play (although I rocked the trumpet in grade nine), I listen. But seriously. Every song sounds different from the rest, Adam's voice is like.. An angel, but better. I could say it's like a mixture of Fergie and Jesus - thank you Step Brothers.. and the instrument parts .. ahha .. well I do a lot of dashboard drumming and air guitaring when I'm driving with a TBS cd.

Thankfully they've given us a little sneak peak at one of the songs they've recorded for the new album (caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan't wait for 2011!!!!!) http://soundcloud.com/adamdamnlazzara/bestplacestobeamom
Listen to it. Your life will change forever. You won't regret it.

Okay wow, now I've gone way back down memory lane. Butch Walker, Coheed and Cambria, Senses Fail, Brand New, Finch. Aaahhh! This was a terrible idea pre-finals. Now I'm going to be sitting on Youtube all day listening to my old favourites.

Don't even get me started on how much I used to love Senses Fail. This is exactly how it happened: My brother Neil used to make me MP3 cd's with like 100s of songs on them that I could upload to my Creative ZenMicro (still to this day think it was way better than any iPod) .. anyways, I was listening to it one night trying to fall asleep and this song came on that caught my attention so I check what it is and it's "Lady in the Blue Dress" by Senses Fail. I'd never heard of them before but I thought the singer's voice was the best thing I ever ever heard. Give it a listen, it's good stuff. And in true Laura fashion, that really wasn't a very exciting story. To make up for that, I'm gonna post some songs that bring me back to the olden days of 14 year old Laura. Give it a listen, love it, and then work out to it.

So here's to music bringing you back to your teen years. Which I'm allowed to say cause I'm 20 now :( This has got me thinking I really need to get an iPod with more space so I can listen to it again. My 8 gig is always full and I have to delete music if I want to put new stuff on. That's no way to live.

Til next time!
Listen to good music and grunt when you work out.
Laura
